The best women fighters today

At the end of 2016 ( the updated version here), The Sports Daily published an article about the top earning female fighters in the industry. I wasn’t surprised of their estimations at all because I’ve heard about the Ronda Rousey before. However, I did feel a bit baffled when I noticed how much money she was making as she currently earns over three million dollars. Since the topic is interesting to me, I decided to write an article about the best female fighters in the United States.

Ronda Rousey is a mixed martial artist and occasional artist. She’ll remain in history because she was the first female fighter from the U.S. to win an Olympic medal in Judo. These days, she has become quite controversial as she’s declared herself against Donald Trump’s policies. Another reason that she has been the headline of news in the last couple of weeks is that Julianna Pena went out and told journalists how Rousey used to threaten her sparring partners with lawsuits of up to one million dollars. The fact of the matter is that while she is one of the best female mixed martial arts fighters, she seems to have quite a rotten character as few people have good things to say about her.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is the next one in line when it comes to the money earned by top female MMA fighters. The gap between Rousey and her is immense in that the total Joanna wins is estimated at only two hundred and twenty thousand dollars. That certainly makes the difference as Rousey takes home over three million. In case you didn’t know, she’s Polish, but I kind of get the feeling that she will be moving to the States in the future.

Amanda Nunes takes home about two hundred thousand, which makes her the third best winning female martial arts artist. She is one of the most well-known UFC fighters and comes from Brazil. Also called as The Lioness, Nunes has proven her skills over time as the has taken down many other prominent female fighters like herself. She now has an extremely ambitious plan for a second UFC title.

Cristiane Justino is the last woman fighter I would like to discuss today. Also known as the Cyborg, she is both Brazilian and American and she’s aged 31, which makes her older than the three other fighters I’ve mentioned before. She now lives in San Diego. Justino has become quite popular ever since 2008, when she made her debut against Shayna Baszler. Of all the others I’ve researched, she seems to be one of the most controversial ones as she tested positive for stanozolol in 2012 which led to her having her license suspended for a whole year.
